Vivo Philippines is also making headlines this week, as it has officially launched the Vivo Y20s (G) on the local market.

You can already purchase the company’s latest smartphone online and offline, and early adopters will receive a free pair of true wireless earphones worth P2,499 (roughly $51 converted) as a nice bonus. This promotion will run until April 15, we’re told.

Locally, the Vivo Y20s (G) carries a P9,999 ($206) price tag for 6GB RAM and 128GB of expandable storage. For the money, you’re looking at a gaming-capable phone with a 6.51-inch HD+ LCD and an octa-core MediaTek Helio G80 chipset, which easily registered more than 200,000 points in our Antutu Benchmark tests.

The Y20s (G) can also run games like Genshin Impact at reasonable frame rates when the graphics settings are set to low. Mobile Legends players, meanwhile, will be happy to note that High Frame Rate or HFR mode is supported on the handset. NBA 2K20 for Android, while no longer one of the most graphics-intensive titles around, can be played smoothly with the graphics options maxed out.

For taking pictures and videos, the phone is equipped with a triple-camera system led by a 13-megapixel sensor. The front-facing unit for selfies has an 8-megapixel sensor. For all-day battery life (and possibly much longer), the Vivo Y20s (G) packs a 5,000mAh battery that charges over USB-C.

In our previous article, we concluded that the Y20s (G) “can run the most demanding games on Android, though performance throttling could be a concern during particularly long gaming sessions.” Despite that, it should suit most gamers on a budget looking for a quality phone from a well-established brand.
