Just as we reported last week, the lone 5G model of the global Redmi Note 10 family is coming to the Philippines. At the time, we didn’t have a date yet. But today, we finally know when the official announcement is going to be.

(Update, July 18: The Redmi Note 10 5G is an affordable 5G phone, but is it worth buying? Here‘s what we have to say after more than a month of using it!)

(Update, June 3: The Redmi Note 10 5G and Redmi Note 10S have been launched in the Philippines! See their respective prices and specs here.)

According to Xiaomi Philippines, the Redmi Note 10 5G will be launched in the country June 3, or the last day of the Xiaomi x PUBG Mobile #LiveForTheChallenge on TikTok. If you haven’t checked out that contest yet, you may want to to do so now, as the company will be giving away two units of the upcoming smartphone.

The Redmi Note 10 5G should be a great option for consumers who are looking for a 5G-ready phone that’s easy on the wallet. Abroad, it is priced from $199, or roughly P9,579, after all.

Besides getting access to the fifth-generation mobile network courtesy of the unit’s MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G chip, users also have a device whose screen is big at 6.5 inches as it is smooth, thanks to the display’s 90Hz refresh rate.

The Redmi Note 10 5G likewise features a 5,000mAh battery with support for 18-watt fast charging, a 48-megapixel triple camera on the back and an 8-megapixel one on the front, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and Android 11 layered with MIUI 12.

Again, those are great specs for the price — at least on paper — so we can’t wait for the local announcement if this #PerformanceRacer.
