Here’s your first look at the OPPO R11 with 2 back-facing cameras

WE know OPPO is working on a dual-camera system that will offer 5x lossless zoom — without bulges, might we add. What remains elusive is when a phone with such camera capabilities will launch. That may change soon.

The company is said to be getting ready to announce a new handset that will have two cams round the back, among other juicy details. An alleged photo of the OPPO R11, as it may be called, has been leaked online. The image is fuzzy, but you can see the branding and two-lens setup on its iPhone-inspired back.

And while this may seem like an about-face of sorts in its camera-phone history, which has put selfies in the foreground as of late, a back-facing zoom camera opens up doors for creative shots and portraits.

Just ask Apple or even ASUS, whose recent release, the ZenFone 3 Zoom, features a 56mm lens for up to 2.3x optical (read: real) zoom. If it will indeed come with OPPO’s newest camera tech, the R11 could zoom in closer than what is allowed on the iPhone 7 Plus and ZenFone 3 Zoom.

The GFXBench database suggests the OPPO R11 will include a 5.5-inch, 1080p display; two 16-megapixel cameras on the back; a 20-megapixel shooter on the front; and Qualcomm’s yet-announced Snapdragon 660 system-on-a-chip alongside 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Android 7.1.1 Nougat will be on tap, which is a first for an OPPO phone.

Some reports say the R11 could arrive in stores as early as June. As always, we’ll keep you posted as more details come to light.
