Mysterious Xiaomi Chiron device appears on GFXBench

YOU’D think that Xiaomi is not going to introduce another high-end smartphone after it had launched the Mi MIX 2 a week ago. You could be wrong. A product code-named Xiaomi Chiron has appeared on GFXBench, and it’s anything but budget.

Based on the screenshot below, the Xiaomi Chiron has Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 inside. The chip is coupled with 6GB of RAM and a whopping 256GB of internal storage.

But unlike the Mi MIX 2’s 6-inch FHD+ display with an 18:9 image format, the device’s screen measures 5.6 inches and has a traditional aspect ratio of 16:9. Could this be the Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus that was rumored months ago?

Another Xiaomi Chiron feature seen on GFXBench is a 12-megapixel rear camera. Now, we’re not sure if it has a dual-camera system or not. For all we know, we might actually be getting two sensors. You see, there are rumors saying that the smartphone’s highlight is its high-end camera, with its support for 4K 2160p video recording, auto-focus, HDR, and face detection.

On the front is a 5-megapixel camera. And it’s running Android 7.1.1 Nougat with MIUI 9 on top.
