One of the newer local releases in the Philippines just got even cheaper.

From February 24 to March 1 this year, you can pick up the CloudFone Next Infinity Plus, which features a full-screen design, for P6,999 (around $135) — a considerable drop from its original asking price of P8,999 ($173). The timed offer is exclusive to Abenson’s online retail site, so you won’t see it anywhere else.

From February 24 to March 1, you can buy the CloudFone Next Infinity Plus for P6,999 (around $135) instead of P8,999 ($173). But the timed offer is exclusive to Abenson’s online retail site. If you ask us, CloudFone should stick to the discounted price after the sale ends.

At the time of its release, choosing the Infinity Plus over the competition was a pretty tough ask, especially after the Philippine launch of sub-P10,000 ($193) smartphones with 18:9 displays like the OPPO A83. If you ask us, CloudFone should stick to the discounted price after the sale ends. It doesn’t scream “value for money” to us right now.

A quick specs rundown: 6-inch, 1,440 x 720 touchscreen; quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor with 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM; 16- and 13-megapixel front and rear cameras; 3,000mAh battery; and Android 7.0 Nougat. There’s also a fingerprint reader at the back of the handset, which is always a nice addition at this price point. You can see the full specs by clicking on this.

As to whether CloudFone will slash the prices of other entries in the Next Infinity series, well, we wouldn’t bet on it. But hey, at least the CloudFone Next Infinity Plus will soon be easier to recommend than ever before.
