The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 is one of the Chinese company’s most desirable devices ever. It sports high-end specs that beat most phones out there and a bezel-less design following the trend of its predecessor.

And if you’re still after a flagship experience at a price that won’t make you second-guess next month’s bills and rent, you’ll be happy to know that it’s now even more affordable in the Philippines after today’s price cut.

The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2’s price tag in online and offline retail has been knocked down to P19,990 (around $385), from a high of P25,490 ($491) back when it was officially introduced in the country in March. This makes the Mi MIX 2 the cheapest Snapdragon 835-based model around… thus far.

Announcement of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2’s new price in the Philippines

Recall that the smartphone was launched in September last year. The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S, its sequel, is already available in its native China at a starting price of ¥3,299 (P26,941 or $519) for the baseline model with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage. You can read our review of the Mi MIX 2S here.

As for the Mi MIX 2, it’s built around last year’s fastest Qualcomm design, the Snapdragon 835, and sees 6GB or 8GB of RAM under the hood. Storage options go all the way up to 256GB, though it should be noted that the version sold here only has 64GB of memory, to go along with 6GB RAM. Suffice to say, it’s memory configuration is more than decent, and this phone should be able to handle just about anything you’d throw at it.

The cameras? Um, not so much. The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 features single-lens cameras on both ends. The primary camera has 12 megapixels, while the front-facer takes up to 5-megapixel selfies. The phone also ships with dated Android Nougat, not Oreo, and a 3,400mAh battery that charges over a USB Type-C connector.
