Samsung has been busy with smartphone announcements lately. The Korean brand recently launched the 2018 refreshes of the Samsung Galaxy A9 and Galaxy A7, both equipped with more cameras than the average handset.

We’re also hearing that Samsung will be unveiling yet another new device soon, this time for the Chinese market. We’re quite confident it’s true, as live images of the alleged Samsung Galaxy A6s have already been posted on China’s Weibo online platform. The design of the supposed Galaxy A6s phones in the pictures matches the unit with the model number SM-G6200 listed on the TENAA certification website.

Hello, Samsung Galaxy A6s?

What’s even more interesting than the match, though, is the manufacturer of the device itself — which is reportedly not Samsung. Reports claim the Galaxy A6s will be produced by Wintech, an original design manufacturer or ODM based in China that is responsible for Xiaomi smartphones.

It’s been said that the move will allow Samsung to compete more aggressively in China and other markets, with budget models produced in Wintech factories that have access to cheaper local components.

Its TENAA listing also reveals the SM-G6200 will come in black, blue, pink, and red colors — which would be a perfect fit for the phones shown in the photos, if you consider the purplish-pink model to be the actual Samsung Galaxy A6s in pink. The rear panel appears to be made of glass, and the main camera includes two lenses stacked vertically on one side. The physical fingerprint reader can also be found around the back.

The screen of the Galaxy A6s looks to be rather large, which points to Samsung’s notch-free Infinity Display design with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The model name “Samsung Galaxy Phoenix” shows up on the boot screen in one of the images, but that could simply be the code name of the handset.

According to its certification in China, the Samsung Galaxy A6s should arrive with a 6-inch LCD screen, a 2.2GHz octa-core processor with 6GB RAM and 64GB or 128GB of expandable storage, and a 3,300mAh battery. The software will be based on Android 8.1 Oreo.
