Alongside the Samsung Galaxy A9 2018 with four rear cameras — yes, four! — the Samsung Galaxy A7 2018 was also announced for the Philippine market. The phone steps down to three back-facing cameras and is cheaper than its quad-camera cousin.
Off contract, the 2018 edition of the Samsung Galaxy A7 is priced at P17,990 (about $333) in the Philippines. It will be available beginning October 27, in black, blue, and gold color variants. The presale begins October 19th, and those who preorder the phone will receive free items worth P6,000 ($111), according to Samsung’s local outfit.
The price isn’t bad for a triple-sensor system, though there are several other options on the market with great specs and palatable price tags. That, and one of the sensors is dedicated to feeding depth information to the main camera, making it useless in some situations.
The main camera sees a 24-megapixel sensor behind an f/1.7 lens, while the wide camera is 8 megapixels. The selfie shooter also comes in at 24 megapixels and has front-firing LED flash.

For deep blacks and punchy colors, the Samsung Galaxy A7 2018 arrives with an OLED screen that measures 6 inches from corner to corner. The back of the phone is made of glass, while the fingerprint sensor is located on the right-hand side, which we prefer to a rear-mounted sensor.
Samsung’s Exynos 7885, an octa-core processor manufactured on a 14nm process, powers the Galaxy A7 2018. It’s paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage. The battery is rated at 3,300mAh. And the phone ships with the Samsung Experience user interface based on Android 8.0 Oreo.
