After a delay caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro global launch has finally pushed through, albeit virtually. But there was something else at the international announcement that has made headlines as well.

A third member of the series has joined the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G, the most affordable unit of the three. It’s been introduced to give everyone access to the fifth-generation mobile network.

Instead of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor, the Mi 10 Lite 5G uses a Snapdragon 765G with LiquidCool technology. That’s the same chipset inside the Redmi K30 5G and Realme X50 5G.

The smartphone doesn’t have the 108-megapixel main sensor of its more expensive siblings. Instead, it has a rectangular-shaped 48-megapixel quad camera that has features like Vlog, AI Dynamic Skyscaping, and ShootSteady modes. Its selfie shooter — one that has a 16-megapixel count — is housed in a waterdrop notch instead of a punch hole.

The Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G also features a 6.57-inch AMOLED TrueColor screen with a under-display fingerprint sensor and a 4,160mAh battery with support for 20-watt fast charging. It is light at 192 grams and thin at 7.98 millimeters.

How much is the Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G and its higher-specced siblings, the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro?

There are two memory configurations of the Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G. Although the company hasn’t revealed the RAM yet, we do know that the base model has 64GB of storage while the other has 128GB.

The phone will be available starting early-May in white, black, and green. Here are its prices in Europe, plus those of the Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro (release begins as early as April 7):

  • Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G
    • 64GB: €349 (around P19,700 or $386)
    • 1278GB: €399 (P22,516 or $442)
  • Xiaomi Mi 10:
    • 8GB/128GB: €799 (P45,088 or $884)
    • 8GB/256GB: €899 (P50,750 or $995)
  • Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro:
    • 8GB/256GB: €999 (P56,469 or $1,107)

Do note that suggested retail prices in Europe are higher because of higher taxes imposed on consumer electronics in the region. So if these three are going on sale in the Philippines, expect better local SRPs.
