A couple of midrange Samsung phones from the Galaxy A series are now cheaper than ever before in the Philippines.

(Update, June 11: The price drop of the A series phones could be because of this: Samsung Galaxy A11, A21s, A31, A41 could launch in PH next.)

Specifically, the Samsung Galaxy A50 and Samsung Galaxy A70 have been discounted on local retailer MemoXpress’ online store, allowing you to save as much as P8,297 (around $166) if you buy the more expensive A70 model. The Galaxy A50 is now P11,193 ($224) from its original standard retail price of P15,990 ($320), while the Galaxy A70 is down to P14,693 ($294) from P22,990 ($461).

More affordable now at MemoXpress: Samsung Galaxy A50 and Samsung Galaxy A70

The website doesn’t say when the sale will end, but our guess is that the discounts are applicable until supplies last. Or probably until June 30, when the promo for the Samsung Galaxy A50s, Galaxy A30s, Galaxy A20s, and Galaxy A10s ends?

A rundown of discounted offers, including the ones we wrote about a month ago, is detailed below:

  • Samsung Galaxy A70: P14,693 ($294) from P22,990 ($461)
  • Samsung Galaxy A50s (6GB/128GB): P14,990 ($300) from P18,990 ($380)
  • Samsung Galaxy A50: P11,193 ($224) from P15,990 ($320)
  • Samsung Galaxy A30s: P9,990 ($200) from P12,990 ($260)

Released in 2019, the Samsung Galaxy A50 features a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED screen, an Exynos 9610 chipset, and a triple-camera setup on the back. It also comes with a 4,000mAh battery and a 25-megapixel front-facing camera in a waterdrop notch. Of the A50, we said that it is a “sensible recommendation for anyone after a well-specced smartphone that doesn’t cost a small fortune” in our review.

The Samsung Galaxy A70, on the other hand, has a massive 6.4-inch AMOLED display and three rear cameras and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 chip paired with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It uses a 4,500mAh battery and supports 25-watt fast charging over a USB-C port.
