Huawei Philippines is entering a new product category, promising to elevate the Filipinos’ smart-home entertainment experience. The company has announced it will launch a television in the Philippines — and soon. Like May 7 soon.

(Update, May 6: And it’s launched! Check out the Huawei Vision S series’ price, specs, and preorder period and freebies here.)

While the press release it sent us and the teaser it posted on Facebook didn’t mention the exact model of the TV, all signs point to the Huawei Vision S as the product that will go official in the country in a few days. It is, after all, the one that was unveiled in Malaysia just recently, where it’s priced from RM2,999 or around P35,108. But we’re not sure if both its 65- and 55-inch versions will be released locally.

Huawei Philippines’ press release

The Huawei Vision S is the first device outside the Chinese market to be powered by the manufacturer’s own HarmonyOS cross-device platform. There’s a detachable and rotatable 13-megapixel camera, so you can easily make high-resolution video calls through Huawei MeeTime. Imagine doing that on a huge 4K screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, a DCI-P3 color gamut of up to 92%, and Low Blue Light technology, among other features.

The Vision S has four integrated speakers, support for Dolby Atmos, and Huawei Histen sound enhancement. When the screen is off, it can act as a speaker by enabling the AI Speaker mode. With Huawei Share, you can easily transfer files like apps, videos, and pictures from a compatible phone to the smart TV — and vice-versa.

We can’t wait to see Huawei Philippines’ further announcements on its upcoming product. We’re just a few days away from the launch, so the wait shouldn’t be that long. Stay tuned.
