The technology giant has yet to officially disclose the local pricing details for both devices, but we know that they’ll be available beginning May 5 through the Huawei Online Store, as well as Huawei’s flagship Lazada and Shopee stores. Those who purchase the MatePad 10.4 and Sound Joy between May 5 and May 15 will also receive additional freebies with their purchases.

In case you’re wondering, the 4GB/64GB model of the new MatePad is priced at €200, or around $210 or P11,045 converted, in Europe. The Sound Joy speaker, on the other hand, is currently on sale for €140 ($147 or P7,731).

The latest addition to the MatePad family, the Huawei MatePad 10.4 packs a 10.4-inch LCD display with a sharp 2K resolution and reasonably small bezels all around. The display boasts dual TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light and Flicker-Free certifications for better eye protection as well. To complement its impressive visual spec, the MatePad 10.4 is equipped with quad stereo speakers with professional tuning by Harman Kardon.

It runs HarmonyOS 2 out of the box, like other recent MatePad tablets, and supports M-Pencil input, as well as Huawei’s optional Smart Keyboard case. Its sizable 7,250mAh battery promises up to 28 days of standby time and 12 hours of 1080p video playback. The battery also charges quickly, requiring only 2.5 hours for a full charge using the included 22.5-watt power brick.

The Sound Joy speaker is the newest product Huawei co-engineered with highly regarded French audio company Devialet.

It is a rugged monophonic speaker (meaning you can pair it with a second Sound Joy to achieve a stereo sound) with a four-unit setup and IP67 dust and water resistance, allowing you to take the speaker virtually anywhere and making it a great option by the pool or beach. Huawei added a fancy multi-color LED ring on the top that can display the speaker’s battery and volume levels, in addition to two passive radiators for a real punch.

Connecting to the speaker is done using Bluetooth 5.2, but you can tap and pair via NFC if your device supports it. A full charge from the huge 8,800mAh battery is supposed to give you as much as 26 hours of continuous playback. The Sound Joy also benefits from Huawei’s proprietary fast-charging standard — provided you have a 40-watt SuperCharge adapter around.
