It’s official: The Huawei Mate 50 Pro is arriving in the Philippines soon November 18.

(Update, November 16: Our Huawei Mate 50 Pro camera review is up!)

While that’s the only information Huawei teased, its local website reveals that there are three color variants that will be available in the country — black, silver, and orange. The first two come with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, while the orange version has 512GB of internal storage.

Huawei Philippines’ announcement on Twitter

Recall that the Huawei Mate 50 Pro debuted alongside the Mate 50 RS Porsche Design, Mate 50, and Mate 50E in China in September. About a week ago, it knocked other smartphones in independent hardware-testing company Dxomark’s ranking to become the No. 1 camera phone with an overall camera score of 149. This, despite Huawei parting ways with German camera and optics manufacturer Leica. The technology giant is already using XMAGE, the imaging brand it launched in July.

The flagship device’s rear-camera setup includes a 50-megapixel camera with f/1.4 to f/4.0 adjustable aperture and OIS; a 13-megapixel, f/2.2 ultrawide option; and a 64-megapixel telephoto shooter with f/3.5 aperture lens and OIS. Up front, there’s a 13-megapixel ultrawide camera that is joined by a 3D ToF sensor, which allows for a more secure face unlock and other features.

The Mate 50 Pro likewise features Kunlun Glass that Huawei says “keeps the [phone’s] screen out of harm’s way, as demonstrated by the first-ever five-star glass drop resistance certification from Switzerland’s SGS.” There’s a 4,700mAh battery that supports 66-watt wired and 50-watt wireless charging; an IP68 splash-, water-, and dust-resistance rating; and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 4G chip.

In China, the Huawei Mate 50 Pro is priced from ¥6,799 (roughly P54,985 or $941). Let’s see how much it will be sold here. We’ll update this article with the exact launch date as soon as we get the information.
