Vivo has welcomed the newest members of its X series with the launch of its latest flagship lineup in China.

(Update, December 21: Vivo has confirmed that the Vivo X90 series is coming to the Philippines!)

The Vivo X90 Pro Plus, Vivo X90 Pro, and Vivo X90 all look quite like each other with their circular camera module on the back; a thin strip running across the rear, where you’ll find the words “Xtreme Imagination: Vivo | Zeiss co-engineered”; and a screen with a punch-hole cutout at the top center.

The three flex their camera prowess, with the Pro Plus model understandably getting the best specs. It debuts the 1-inch, 50-megapixel Sony IMX989 primary sensor and boasts a 48-megapixel Sony IMX598 ultrawide lens, a 50-megapixel Sony IMX758 portrait shooter, and a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B40 telephoto camera with up to 100x digital zoom.

The Vivo X90 Pro and Vivo X90, on the other hand, each have three rear cameras, though the former comes with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX989 main sensor and a 50-megapixel Sony IMX758 portrait camera while the latter features a 50-megapixel Sony IMX866 primary sensor and a 12-megapixel Sony IMX663 telephoto lens. They have the same 12-megapixel ultrawide Sony IMX663 shooter.

Expect portrait effects here, such as Zeiss Cine-Flare and Cinematic.

The Vivo X90 series

This series also becomes the world’s first smartphone lineup to get the newly announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and MediaTek Dimensity 9200 5G flagship chipsets. The Vivo X90 Pro Plus is powered by Qualcomm’s SoC, and at the heart of the other two is MediaTek’s chip.

The Pro Plus variant’s 6.78-inch display is more superior than its siblings’ similarly sized screen; the Samsung E6 LTPO 4.0 OLED panel will supposedly be used by at least one of the Samsung Galaxy S23 series phones, which are rumored to launch in early 2023.

Other areas where the three models differ are in the IP-rating, battery, and fast-charging categories. We placed their specs at the end of this article, so you can compare them.

So, how much are these newly unveiled flagships? In China, these are their prices:

  • Vivo X90 Pro Plus
    • 12GB + 256GB: ¥6,499 (roughly P52,155 or $910)
