(Update, July 6: Samsung has announced the date of the Unpacked event in July!)

The next Galaxy Unpacked event is widely believed to take place on July 27 in Seoul, South Korea. And we’re pretty confident that the new devices are launching soon, because popular leaker Evan Blass has already leaked the promotional images for the said Samsung products. Among them are images that show the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5, Galaxy Z Flip5, Galaxy Watch 6, Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, Galaxy Buds 3, and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra in all their glory.

Here’s what to expect next month when the company officially takes to the stage to announce its latest line of smartphones, starting with its next-gen flagship foldable.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5

Like last year, we expect Samsung to stick with the same foldable design for the Galaxy Z Fold5. The flagship foldable is expected to sport a 6.2-inch outer screen, while the chassis could house a 6.76-inch inner panel, same as on last year’s model.

A redesigned hinge is heavily rumored to debut on the Z Fold5, though, to allow the phone to close up entirely and eliminate the gap between its screens when folded. And like its predecessor, the new model will once again arrive with IPX8 water resistance, but it is also believed to boast an IP58 rating for dust resistance. Unfortunately, it still won’t come with a dedicated slot for the S Pen, which means you’ll still have to hold onto the stylus yourself if you plan on using it with the device.

Inside, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 will likely sport the same customised version of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset found in the Galaxy S23 range, coupled with 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of built-in storage depending on the storage variant you opt for.

The triple-camera array at the back, meanwhile, may consist of a 50-megapixel main sensor accompanied by a pair of 12-megapixel cameras for ultrawide and zoom shots. Up front, expect an upgraded 12-megapixel camera on the outer screen for selfies. The foldable panel might pack a 4-megapixel under-display camera as well.

Rounding out the rumors, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 is said to have a 4,400mAh battery that supports fast wired charging up to 25 watts.

We’re most excited about the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5!

Samsung’s upcoming clamshell-style foldable is said to be available in a variety of trendy colors, including blue, green, yellow, pink, gray, and beige. With the new Galaxy Z Flip, we also expect to see at least a 6.7-inch foldable AMOLED 2X panel that supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz.

While that’s mostly a rehash of the Galaxy Z Flip4‘s display specs, the latest rumors suggest a much larger 3.4-inch cover screen that would allow the brand to incorporate new and potentially useful features into it. Think customizable lockscreens and intuitive widgets that reveal timely and important information at a glance.

As rumors have it, the Galaxy Z Flip5 will be powered by the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip found in the Galaxy S23 series. We expect the processor to be paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB and 256GB of storage as well, similar to the previous generation. There are conflicting reports with regard to the size of the battery, so don’t be surprised if the new model packs a smaller battery compared with its predecessor.

In any case, it’s likely that the Galaxy Z Flip5 retains the 25-watt wired charging standard we saw on the Galaxy Z Flip4. Don’t expect to see an in-box power brick, though; that ship has sailed a while ago.
