The realme 11 lineup was one of the best products we tried last year — it will be a tough act to follow. It seems that its successor might just have a shot at impressing us even more, though.

realme has confirmed that the realme 12 Pro Series 5G will become official in India this month. The brand’s global account has begun teasing the lineup as well, suggesting that an international launch is also in the offing. And the teasers make us want to get our hands on any one of the yet-to-be-unveiled models, which we expect to be the realme 12 Pro and realme 12 Pro Plus. Look, the one showcased in the company’s latest posts looks more luxurious than ever.

Not that we’re surprised. After all, the realme 12 Pro Series 5G is a product of realme’s collaboration with international luxury watch master Ollivier Savéo, whose idea was to capture the precision of timepieces through classic design elements.

There are even claims that realme has partnered with Swiss watch manufacturer Rolex for a limited edition. Take that with a grain of salt at this point, but it would be nice if the rumors turn out to be true.

Rumor: A special Rolex edition of the realme 12 Pro Plus 5G?

Of course, the highlight of the realme 12 Pro Series 5G besides the design is the return of the periscope lens. The said feature was last seen on 2020’s realme X3 SuperZoom. We wonder if it will be offered by the more affordable non-Plus version as well.

Periscope over a 200-megapixel camera?

Anyhow, the realme 12 Pro and realme 12 Pro Plus have been spotted on the site of Chinese certification authority TENAA. According to the listings, the smartphones are equipped with three cameras on the back, a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, and a 5,000mAh battery. The vanilla variant supposedly packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 5G processor and a 16-megapixel selfie shooter, while the more premium Plus model gets a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 5G chipset and a 32-megapixel front-facing camera.

Word has it that the lineup will be launched in India January 31, with the realme 12 Pro rolling out in Navigator Beige and Submarine Blue colors and the realme 12 Pro Plus becoming available in Explorer Red, Navigator Beige, and Submarine Blue hues.
