realme‘s newest Pros are here, arriving with the promise of letting you “explore the art of design and unleash your inner Portrait Master.”

(Update, March 12: Our realme 12 Pro Plus 5G review is up now!)

And while the realme 12 Pro Plus 5G and realme 12 Pro 5G are indeed official on the global stage, they are released in India first. Don’t worry if you’re one of those waiting for the series but are based in the Philippines; realme already confirmed weeks ago that the lineup will launch locally.

Both smartphones are the first in the number series to come with telephoto lenses. Better yet, the realme 12 Pro Plus 5G boasts a periscope portrait camera — and one with a huge, 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B sensor at that — offering 3x optical zoom, 6x in-sensor zoom, and up to 120x digital zoom.

The more premium model likewise features a Sony IMX890 OIS primary camera with Omni-focal MasterShot Algorithm, which is said to be a flagship-level architecture offering the most advanced computational photography in the industry.

The non-Pro Plus version, on the other hand, gets a Sony IMX709 telephoto lens that offers 2x optical zoom, a Sony IMX882 OIS main camera, and the same algorithm adopted by the realme 12 Pro Plus 5G. The two phones have their imaging tuned by Oscar-winning cinematographer Claudio Miranda, who’s known for his work on Life of Pi.

Another highlight of the devices can be seen in plain sight — the design. That elegant look is inspired by a classic luxury watch and is the result of realme’s collaboration with international luxury-watch designer Ollivier Savéo, who has worked with prestigious Swiss watch brands Rolex, Piaget, Breitling, and the like. You’ll see elements here like a bezel with 300 metal lines and a sunburst dial with over 500 sunburst patterns.

Bold claim. Notice the familiar ‘portrait master’ tag line as well

Outside the photography system and the design, the more affordable model is equipped with a 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor and 67-watt fast charging, and the other, a 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chip and 100-watt SUPERVOOC Charge. Both units pack a a 120Hz curved AMOLED screen with eye protection, a 5,000mAh battery, IP65 dust and water resistance, and realme UI 5.0 based on Android 14.

In India, the Pro Plus variant is priced starting at ₹29,999 (around P20,353 or $361), while the regular one retails from ₹25,999 (P17,639 or $313).
