Bad news: It’s the end of the line for the Huawei P series. Good news: The lineup has been replaced with the Huawei Pura.
(Update, April 18: The Huawei Pura70 series is now official!)
Huawei today announced that it is retiring its P stable of smartphones to make way for an upgraded camera- and fashion-focused flagship series. Which means the Huawei P60, P60 Pro, and P60 Art from 2023 are the last you see from the line that was introduced in 2012 with the launch of the Huawei Ascend P1.
So there are no P70 devices. With the announcement of the Huawei Pura series, expect to get introductory Pura phones that include the Huawei Pura70, Huawei Pura70 Pro, Huawei Pura70 Pro Plus, and Huawei Pura70 Ultra, with the Ultra replacing the Art model. At least according to the grapevine.

Introducing the Huawei Pura70 series…
The word “Pura” means “pure” in Spanish. And that can be seen in the video above. The clip is in Chinese, but translate what’s shown there, and you’ll find other buzzwords and buzz phrase like “passion,” “style,” “creation,” “classic,” and “moving forward with determination.” The triangular element there could point to how the camera module of the upcoming devices look, just like how it is in leaked images — seen in the main image we used for this article.
The technology giant hasn’t revealed more details about the Pura70 devices, but reliable tipster Digital Chat Station has claimed that the Pura70, Pura70 Pro, and Pura70 Pro Plus will arrive with the following memory configurations and color variants.
The rebranding couldn’t come at a better time, with Huawei’s smartphone business currently experiencing a resurgence in China.
