vivo has listed a new entry-level smartphone for the local market under the Y series. It will be available starting tomorrow, April 15.

We found the vivo Y03 on the brand’s official Shopee store, where it will go on sale exclusively — at least, as far as online retail availability goes. The listing indicates the phone will carry an introductory price of P3,499 (after discounts), or roughly $62, in the Philippines for the variant with 4GB of physical RAM and 128GB of expandable storage. It normally costs P5,999 ($106).

The deal includes free shipping plus 18 months of official warranty coverage. The vivo Y03 comes in Gem Green and Space Black colors, as well as two storage configurations. The base version offers 64GB of storage space and might come with a P3,999 ($71) price tag, based on a separate listing we saw.

The successor to the vivo Y02 carries a cheaper price at launch than its predecessor. You might recall that the Y02 with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage originally sold for P5,299 ($94) at local retail back in December 2022.

For the price, you’re looking at a bargain-basement smartphone built around MediaTek’s Helio G85 4G chipset. The 12nm chip is paired with Mali-G52 graphics and a 5,000mAh battery that supports 15-watt charging. The Y03 also arrives with an IP54 rating, making it somewhat resistant to light rain, and dual rear cameras headlined by a 13-megapixel shooter. For selfies, you get a 5-megapixel front-facer in a waterdrop notch.

Besides the processor and primary camera, the other major upgrade comes by way of a 6.56-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate for a smoother experience. The vivo Y03 also runs the company’s own Funtouch OS 14 interface based on Android 14 out of the box.

If you’re looking for a budget-friendly handset from a reputable global brand, the vivo Y03 could be a compelling option, especially for early adopters. It checks some boxes for an entry-level device, including a potentially long-lasting 5,000mAh battery that will get you through the day and a smooth 90Hz-refresh-rate display. With its discounted introductory price, it might be worth checking out.
