A month ago, OPPO sub-brand Realme revealed that the Realme 2, its second product will be coming to Southeast Asia and the Middle East. Back then, we said the Philippines might be one of the countries that will get the smartphone. Well, it looks like we’re right.

(Update, September 30: It’s confirmed that the Philippines is one of the markets Realme will enter. See OPPO sub-brand Realme hiring in the Philippines.)

Amid the announcement that the Realme 2 series will be launched October 9th in Indonesia, the second country after India where Realme is establishing its presence, we searched for the company’s respective Facebook pages for the Indian and Indonesian markets. Lo and behold, we were redirected to its official page for the Philippines.

This means that the Realme account on Facebook is a global page. In the social-media giant’s own words, “Global pages allow advertisers to provide localized versions of their content for their customers all over the world, but with one universal brand name, total fan count, vanity URL, and global insights across their entire fan base.”

For example, OPPO is a global page. So fans who are based in, say, Singapore will only get to access OPPO Singapore’s posts unless they switch regions. You can read more about it here.

The OPPO Facebook page is a global one.

Anyhow, back to Realme. Look what we found: It’s Realme Philippines’ official Facebook account!

Same brand, but different URL. Look, it’s Realme Philippines! Another discovery: This could be its Instagram account.

And when you switch regions by clicking on the three dots after “Like,” “Share,” and “Follow,” you’ll be looking at the image below. Yes, listed are the following countries where Realme devices will most likely become officially available after India and Indonesia:

  • Bangladesh
  • Germany
  • Cambodia
  • Laos
  • Malaysia
  • Myanmar
  • Philippines
  • Singapore
  • Thailand
  • Vietnam

Same brand, but again… different URL. This one’s for Realme Indonesia. And when you try to switch regions…

We won’t be surprised if and when Realme is indeed looking to strengthen its global presence. With sub-brands like Huawei’s Honor and Xiaomi’s Pocophone helping their respective mother brands capture a bigger market share worldwide, OPPO could use some help without hurting its own brand image.
