The Realme 3 Pro is set to launch in the Philippines May 17, as we previously reported. But before that, the OPPO sub-brand is expected to make headlines in China by announcing its flagship smartphone lineup for 2019.

Realme‘s latest post on social-networking site Weibo has revealed the launch date for the Realme X and Realme X Youth Edition or Realme X Lite, which is likely to be its international name, in Beijing, China. The date to watch is — drum roll, please! — May 15.

Notably, Realme’s announcement also says that the X series is now available for preorder from online sites such as JD.com, Suning, and TMall. Based on the images in the post, it appears that the phones will get some futuristic features and high-end specs, though it’s standard fare on Realme devices to punch above their weight in the technical department.

Unfortunately, the teasers don’t show the design of either phone, although the Realme X has purportedly made an appearance in a video review of a laptop from another manufacturer. Upon closer examination, it seems that the handset in question has dual cameras on the back, but doesn’t sport a physical fingerprint sensor, which hints at an in-screen solution.

Another video, this time shared by Realme, confirms the presence of a pop-up selfie camera, possibly of the 16-megapixel variety, according to various reports. Other rumored specs of the Realme flagship include a 48-megapixel rear-facing camera and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor. The Realme X Youth Edition or Realme X Lite, on the other hand, might launch with a Snapdragon 730 even though it looks like a Realme 3 Pro, as indicated by images that appear on Chinese certification site TENAA.
