According to Realme, it already has more than 150,000 TWS customers locally, with two-thirds of its user base owning a pair of the Buds Q, Realme’s most affordable TWS offering and the Buds Q2’s predecessor, since their launch.

Announcement of the Realme Buds Q2 launch for the Philippine market

The arrival of the Buds Q2, which is aimed squarely at the masses, should only increase the company’s domestic TWS market share. In Pakistan, the buds go for ₨3,999, which translates to roughly P1,251 or $26 converted. The Buds Q before them are currently priced at P1,490 ($31) in the Philippines, so expect the Buds Q2 to cost about the same, if not cheaper.

Besides a new design for the buds themselves, the Realme Buds Q2 feature 10mm Dynamic Bass Boost drivers for towering bass and lows and 20 hours of playback on a single charge, same as the first-gen model, with their 40mAh in-buds battery backup and 400mAh cell in the charging case.

The latter still tops up over a microUSB port instead of the more convenient USB-C port. Realme says it should take about 2.5 hours to fully charge the earphones and charging case from zero.

The buds also offer instant connection with Bluetooth 5.0, touch controls for playback, as well as IPX4 water resistance to prevent water damage from sweat and accidental splashes.

Last but certainly not the least, the Buds Q2 are equipped with Realme’s updated Game Mode for TWS accessories. It is said to reduce audio latency to just 88ms, a significant improvement over the Buds Q’s 119ms latency.
