The successor to Realme’s first Explorer smartphone has arrived.

The Realme GT 2 Explorer Master Edition has been launched in China, but this time, it was designed in collaboration with fashion designer Jae Jung instead of Naoto Fukasawa. The theme still revolves around travel, with this year’s model inspired by the classic travel trunk. The Wilderness version, in particular, comes with aerometal flat edges, metal rivets, edge covers, and faux leather, though there are also two other options for minimalists.

The Realme GT 2 Explorer Master Edition may be fashion-forward, but make no mistake, it’s also as features-rich as flagship phones come. This Realme is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 5G chip coupled with up to 12GB of RAM and a maximum of 256GB of storage. The 8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB, and 12GB/256GB variants are aggressively priced at ¥3,499 (roughly P29,401 or $520), ¥3,799 (P31,922 or $565), and ¥3,999 (P33,603 or $595), respectively.

The company’s own X7 display chipset debuts on the device to optimize its 120Hz screen’s performance and power consumption. The 6.7-inch AMOLED panel supports a touch-sampling rate of up to 1,000Hz.

Charging the Realme GT 2 Explorer Master Edition’s 5,000mAh battery should take you only about 25 minutes to charge from empty to full, thanks to its fast-charging technology, the industry’s first 100-watt tech with GaN semiconductor material.

The top-of-the-line phone also boasts pressure-sensitive shoulder triggers, quad N28 active-antenna switching, a rear-camera system headlined by a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 OIS sensor, a thin profile, and ultra-slim bezels.

Too bad the Realme GT 2 Explorer Master Edition isn’t landing on global shores, including the Philippines. But the brand did say that its “limited releases may end up unveiling some technology or design concept that can be used to make future products even better.”
