Realme‘s 5G rockstar — part of the company’s latest number series — has broken cover.

The Realme 9i 5G is now official in India, offering access to 5G networks courtesy of the MediaTek Dimensity 810 chip inside it. It’s the same SoC fabbed on a 6nm process that powers devices such as the Narzo 50 5G from Realme’s very own spinoff brand.

The smartphone is equipped with a large battery rated at 5,000mAh, so you won’t have to keep reaching for a charger.

The screen refreshes 90 times per second and has a 180Hz touch-sampling rate. And inside its waterdrop-style notch is an 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls. Three cameras headlined by a 50-megapixel unit, on the other hand, takes care of shooting pictures and videos from the back.

Of course, we can’t talk about the Realme 9i 5G without turning the spotlight on the phone’s design. The brand calls the look Laser Light, in a nod to how a (vintage) CD looks. This is actually in keeping with the lineup’s “light and reflection” inspiration. It looks nice and neat, especially with the cameras being integrated into the body.

In India, the Android 12-based Realme 9i 5G with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage is priced at ₹14,999 (around P10,514 or $188). The 6GB/128GB model, on the other hand, costs ₹16,999 (P11,913 or $213). There’s no word yet if or when it’s coming to the Philippines.
