All the waiting will soon be over. ASUS will announce the latest ZenFone 5 series to the Philippine market on April 14, just weeks from today.

The announcement comes after ASUS’ event at MWC, where the new ZenFone models were shown in their full variety. Speaking of, the Taiwanese manufacturer has not specified which models are going to be made official. However, we’re fairly certain the ASUS ZenFone 5 and ASUS ZenFone 5Q or ZenFone 5 Lite will make the stage at the public event.

The top-of-the-line ASUS ZenFone 5Z will likely join the duo given the high interest in the phone. At the time of its announcement, the company said the ZenFone 5Z will be priced below $500 (around P26,203) when it launches, putting it squarely in the territory of the OnePlus 5T and Xiaomi Mi MIX 2.

Of course, the ZenFone 5Z will have the speed advantage, seeing the latest — and fastest — Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 system-on-a-chip. It also arrives with up to 8GB of RAM, allowing for a better gaming and multitasking experience. The front features a notch screen with a 2,246 x 1,080 resolution, which leads to an extra-tall aspect ratio of 19:9. At the back, there’s a dual-camera system consisting of 12- and 8-megapixel sensors.

No pricing details for the ZenFone 5Z have been confirmed so far. The same can be said about the ZenFone 5, which has the same notch display and main camera module but a weaker processor in the Snapdragon 636.

The ASUS ZenFone 5 features the same notch display and main camera module as the Snapdragon 845-powered ZenFone 5Z. However, it has a weaker processor in the Snapdragon 636.

The lowest tier of the three, the ZenFone 5Q, is already available in Taiwan, with the phone retailing at NT$9,900 (about P17,837 or $340). It’s possible that ASUS will offer the ZenFone 5Q at around the same price when it lands locally. For the midrange price, you’ll find a Snapdragon 630 chipset present under the hood, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage.
