Vivo is scheduled to launch its flagship NEX series June 12th in its native China. Allegedly, there will be three almost-borderless smartphones in the lineup — the Vivo NEX, NEX S, and NEX A. They will be almost identical, but they’re supposed to come with varying specs and setups for the front-facing camera.

We haven’t seen any quality photos of these phones in the wild before, but we might be looking at them now. These images were grabbed from this online show on a Chinese website, and they convincingly show off the Vivo NEX in its full glory.

They also confirm some of the details relating to the phone, such as the presence of a pop-up selfie camera, which the company first adopted on the Vivo APEX concept phone. The APEX has an edge-to-edge screen that occupies almost the entire front panel.

An earlier photo of the NEX shows a selfie camera along the phone’s bottom bezel, the reason being that we might have been looking at the lower-tier version all along. Rumor has it that the Vivo NEX S or NEX A will be powered by Qualcomm’s new mid-tier Snapdragon 710 chipset. The regular NEX, meanwhile, is tipped to get the fastest Qualcomm mobile processor available in the Snapdragon 845.

Whatever the case, the NEX series appears to make a strong case for the closest thing we’ll get to an all-screen phone on the commercial market.

The Vivo NEX captured in the images also doesn’t have a capacitive fingerprint reader, a clear sign that it will include an in-display sensor just like the Vivo X20 Plus UD and X21 UD and Huawei Porsche Design Mate RS. In-display fingerprint recognition is currently available on OLED screens, so it’s likely that the NEX uses AMOLED display technology.

Flipping to the other side of the device, the back features two cameras stacked vertically on the upper-left corner. And the panel itself seems to be made of glass.

As for retail pricing in China, it was previously reported that the high-end Vivo NEX will be priced at ¥6,998 (around P57,281 or $1,092), whereas the Snapdragon 710-based NEX is going to sell for ¥4,998 (P40,910 or $780).
