Just over a week ago, OPPO Philippines posted a Find X teaser image on its Facebook page, hinting at the phone’s imminent launch in the country. Apparently, the smartphone will indeed arrive sooner rather than later.

The company today announced that the OPPO Find X is now available for preorder at select OPPO stores until August 1. The full list of participating stores can be found below.

  • SM Dasmariñas
  • SM North EDSA
  • SM Megamall
  • SM Mall of Asia
  • Gaisano Mall Davao
  • SM Clark
  • SM Pampanga
  • SM Calamba
  • SM Cebu
  • SM Fairview
  • SM Urdaneta

  • SM Manila
  • SM Aura
  • SM Marikina
  • Market! Market! Taguig

The first day of claiming is on August 6, and the down payment is P5,000, which translates to roughly $94. It’s a fairly steep sum, but then again, the OPPO Find X is easily the most powerful and best-looking OPPO device ever assembled and rightfully commands a higher price than the company’s previous offerings.

Local pricing for the Find X has yet to be decided, in case you’re wondering. In China, the base model with 128GB storage has been priced at ¥4,999 (P40,114 or $751), while the 256GB edition that supports SuperVOOC (read: super fast) charging sells for ¥5,999 (P48,138 or $901). The fanciest Lamborghini variant, which we doubt will ever make it to the Philippines, will run you ¥9,999 (P80,235 or $1,502).

To recap, the OPPO Find X currently has the highest screen-to-body ratio ever on a smartphone (93.8 percent). The bezels around the curved OLED display are almost non-existent. It also doesn’t have a notch at the top to house the selfie camera and earpiece speaker. When you need to take a picture using either the front- or rear-facing cameras or use the phone’s advanced face-login feature, its top portion slides up using a motorized mechanism.
