(October 12: Here’s the latest update: 12GB/1TB ASUS ROG Phone 2 launched in PH, too.)
The company isn’t just sticking to a price point, but its schedule as well. The first ROG Phone also launched in October. We got word of the announcement in the middle of the night about the preorder for the gaming phone.
Preorders begin tomorrow, October 3, until October 11. Early adopters get an exclusive ROG premium jacket worth P2,495 ($48). The AeroActive Cooler II and Aero Case — worth P2,995 ($57) and P995 ($19), respectively — are included with the smartphone. ASUS ROG Philippines will release the full mechanics tonight, October 2, on its Facebook page.
The ROG Phone 2 will be launched on October 11 during an online event that will be streamed live at 9 p.m. local time on Facebook. We will most likely find out at the event what accessories the company will be bringing in with the phone. ASUS ROG introduced a new dual-screen dock and a gamepad attachment reminiscent of the Nintendo Switch controllers, which you can attach to the top and bottom of the handset or slid into a grip.
The ASUS ROG Phone 2 is the first smartphone to come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset. It has a sizeable 6.59-inch OLED screen with an embedded fingerprint reader and an industry-best 120Hz refresh rate. To make sure it keeps up with your needs, it has a 6,000mAh battery as well.
