A confession: We haven’t closed the browser tab showing this page on Apple’s local website since the cheapest iPhone’s global launch in mid-April.

Today, we finally got something out of this close monitoring: The “currently unavailable” shipment status of the 2020 Apple iPhone SE has finally changed to “ships: 2-3 weeks, free delivery.” So yes, guys, those of us who are based in the Philippines can finally order this iPhone!

Here it is!

This development comes a day after local retailer Power Mac Center and telco Smart Communications teased that this year’s iPhone SE is coming to the country soon. Also a day after the 2020 Apple Worldwide Developers Conference or WWDC kicked off.

So we won’t be surprised if our carriers will release the postpaid plans for this device at any time soon. (1. It’s now live, a few minutes after we posted this! Please wait for a follow-up article. 2. Update: Here it is: 2020 Apple iPhone SE: Globe, Smart postpaid plans.)

Just to jog your memory, here are the prices of the different memory configurations of the 2020 Apple iPhone SE:

  • 64GB: P26,490 (around $522)
  • 128GB: P30,490 ($601)
  • 256GB: P36,490 ($720)

Available in white, black, and red, the 2020 Apple iPhone SE may not look like a modern handset, what with its small screen and big bezels — a look it inherited from the iPhone 8. But inside is a beast, thanks to the A13 Bionic chip that’s also used by the Apple iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max. In fact, it has outperformed the Apple iPhone XS Max in Antutu Benchmark.

So if you really want an iPhone, but can’t because of prohibitive prices, you may want to check this out. See its specs after the video below.
