Wondering when the Philippines’ third major telecommunications player is launching in Metro Manila? We finally have a date.

(Update, May 17: It’s officially launched in NCR [hello, Metro Manila]! Check out the new areas where you can access DITO Telecommunity’s services.)

According to the Philippine Daily Inquirer, DITO Telecommunity will officially offer its 4G and 5G services in the metro starting May 17, just less than a week from today, May 11. Unfortunately, that’s all we know for now. There’s still no information yet beyond that at the time of posting this article. We don’t know if all cities in Metro Manila will be covered on the said date, or if the rollout will be gradual. But we should have more details anytime now.

DITO commercially launched its 4G and 5G networks March 8, starting with 17 key cities and municipalities in Mindanao and Visayas. It’s currently available in the following areas:

To be able to use DITO’s services, you must own a smartphone that’s compatible with the telco’s network. Handsets that have been confirmed to work with DITO are listed below. But take note that your device might still be able to use the company’s services if it supports VoLTE, otherwise known as Voice over LTE.

DITO Telecommunity currently offers 25GB of data; unlimited texts and 300 minutes of calls to other networks; and unlimited DITO-to-DITO calls valid for 30 days for only P199 or around $4. You can buy a SIM card from the DITO eShop or its official store on Lazada or Shopee.
