Huawei Philippines has started teasing its latest Nova smartphone. Even better, we already know when the device will go official locally.
(Update, November 18: Check out the Nova 9’s price and preorder period and freebies in the Philippines!)
According to the press release the technology giant sent us, the Huawei Nova 9 will be launched in the country November 19, with photography and videography workshops to follow from November 20 until the 23rd.
It’s confirmed that the Starry Blue and Black color variants will be released here, but we’re not sure about the memory configurations. Based on the specs listed on Huawei Philippines’ site, though, the local Nova 9 model packs 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

As with other Nova phones, the Huawei Nova 9 is camera-focused, boasting a flagship-level RYYB camera and an XD Fusion Engine, so users can take social-media-ready images and videos with minimal effort — even in less-than-ideal lighting conditions.
You get a 120Hz OLED screen, so you’ll see smoother visuals, especially when playing games that support high refresh rates. There’s a 4,300mAh battery that can be fully topped up in around 38 minutes, thanks to Huawei’s 66W SuperCharge technology. It should likewise be easy to set up multi-device collaboration with Huawei products, such as the Huawei MateBook D 15 and the Huawei Vision S.
The Nova 9 version that will become available here is based on EMUI 12. However, if you want to update the software to HarmonyOS 2 Beta, we suggest that you try it by switching your region to Hong Kong. Word has it that HK will open the entry of the said OS version on the Huawei Nova 9 from November 15.
