Ahead of Mobile World Congress 2022, OPPO today lifted the wraps off the Find X5 series globally — and it looks like the leaks, unsurprisingly, were pretty spot on.

(Update, May 9: Confirmed: The OPPO Find X5 Pro is coming to the Philippines!)

The lineup comprises the new OPPO Find X5 Lite, Find X5, and Find X5 Pro, but it’s the last two that really set the tone for the company’s global ambitions in the flagship segment. The Find X5 Lite looks like a rebadged Reno7 5G, complete with MediaTek Dimensity 900 5G chipset under the hood, while the Find X5 and Find X5 Pro are similar to one another in terms of overall aesthetic and rear camera module, with both phones sporting a curious-looking camera island as well as the Hasselblad branding.

They also share a curved AMOLED display with a punch-hole selfie camera in the top left. All three devices feature OLED screens with an embedded optical fingerprint reader, but it’s only the Pro model that boasts an LTPO panel with a Quad HD+ resolution and a variable refresh rate between 1Hz and 120Hz, for better battery efficiency. Its display is also bigger — 6.7 inches across, compared to the 6.55-inch FHD+ panel the Find X5 uses.

In Europe, the standard Find X5 and top-of-the-line Find X5 Pro are priced at €999 (around $1,117 or P57,609) and €1,299 ($1,452 and P74,909), respectively, with sales beginning March 14. OPPO will also sell you a 50-watt AirVOOC Charger for €79 ($88 or P4,556).

Pricing and availability details. The Find X3 series was not released in the Philippines, so the new lineup might not become available in the country this time, too. Let’s see

One of the big talking points this year is camera performance, and the Find X5 and Find X5 Pro aim to deliver finer detail, true-to-life colors, and more accurate skin tones, thanks to OPPO’s in-house 6nm MariSilicon X NPU and improved noise-reduction algorithms. The Find X5 series also comes with a Hasselblad Natural Color Calibration setting in Pro mode, which allows the phones to capture RAW images with 12-bit color.

Both handsets share a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 image sensor in their primary and ultra-wide rear cameras. The tertiary camera on the phones is a 13-megapixel telephoto shooter with 2x optical zoom.

The Pro variant gets better optical image stabilization on its main camera, though. Plus, its front-facing camera has a 32-megapixel Sony IMX709 RGBW sensor that also works with the MariSilicon X image-processing chip, promising crisper selfies with better colors.

In terms of internals, the OPPO Find X5 Pro packs a faster Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor with 12GB RAM and 256GB of onboard storage, whereas the regular Find X5 downgrades to last year’s Snapdragon 888. The Pro model comes with a slightly bigger battery, too, and faster wireless charging using OPPO’s latest 50-watt AirVOOC standard. Both devices support 80-watt SuperVOOC wired fast charging and boot ColorOS 12.1 based on Android 12 out of the box.
