Realme is busy beefing up its portfolio in categories other than smartphones as part of its 1 + 4 + N strategy.

(Update, April 4: And the Realme Pad Mini is official with up to P2,000 [$39] discount for a limited time!)

The brand has just confirmed to us that it’s launching the Realme Pad Mini soon April 4. Even better, the tablet will debut in the Philippines — just in time for the upcoming school year. This is going to be the first time that a Realme product will be offered in the country first. It must be because the Realme Pad, the company’s first foray into the tablet category, was sold out in a mere six minutes during its first e-commerce selling.

“We are excited to be the first country to launch the Realme Pad Mini, as we are confident in the new innovations it can bring to the tablet category,” said Realme Philippines’ VP for Marketing Austine Huang. “This marks an incredible milestone for us, because this shows how the Philippines continues to be one of the valued markets for the brand.”

What to expect from the Realme Pad Mini

Not only did Realme confirm the upcoming release of the “mini yet powerful” tablet, as it likes to call it, the company also shared the device’s design and key specs and features.

As can be seen from the images embedded here, the Realme Pad Mini is slim and light, coming in at 7.6mm thick and weighing only 372 grams. The screen, which has a resolution of 1,340 × 800 pixels, measures 8.7 inches, so it’s still big and useful enough to be used for productivity and entertainment purposes.

Slim and light!

And you won’t have to worry that much if you need to use the tablet for a long time; this unit offers Eye Comfort features such as Sunlight, Dark, and Reading modes for your eyes’ protection.

This Pad Mini packs a 6,400mAh battery with 18W Quick Charge, adopts an aluminum-alloy body design in gray and blue, and uses a Unisoc T616 processor. There will be two memory configurations at launch, and they’re both LTE-ready. One pairs 3GB of RAM with 32GB of storage, and the other has 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The memory can still be expanded up to 1TB. Expect a more affordable 3GB/32GB WiFi variant to be available afterwards.
