POCO F5 Pro

Expect flagship-grade performance from the POCO F5 Pro, as it’s based on Qualcomm’s top-end 5G chipset last year, the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1, which was used to power phones such as the OnePlus 10T, realme GT 2 Master Edition, and Xiaomi’s own 12T Pro. The chip maker gave this Plus variant a 10% CPU performance boost and a 30% improvement in power efficiency, to go along with higher frequencies on its Prime, Gold, and Silver cores.

Another standout feature is the screen. The resolution is already WQHD+; it’s of the AMOLED kind; you get a choice between 60Hz and 120Hz refresh rates; brightness peaks at 1,400 nits; and it features 68 billion true-to-life colors. This should make the handset a great smartphone for gaming and watching videos.

The POCO F5 Pro is equipped with a 64-megapixel triple-rear-camera system that should produce high-definition images with a P3 color gamut that’s 25% larger than sRGB. There’s support for 8K video shooting and optical and electronic image stabilization here as well. Take pictures or videos — or do just about anything — all you want, because the device boasts a 5,160mAh battery. If you ever need to charge it, expect topping up to be fast; it comes with support for 67-watt wired and 30-watt wireless charging.

In the Philippines, this Pro has the following suggested retail prices:

  • 8GB + 256GB: P26,999 (around $484) via official e-commerce channels

POCO F5

The POCO F5 is the first Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2 smartphone to be released in international markets. The 5G processor is based on the same 4nm TSMC process and CPU and GPU architecture as the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1. They even have the same memory specifications and ISP. So yeah, expect the unit to deliver flagship-level performance in day-to-day tasks and benchmark apps.

The 6.67-inch display is AMOLED, has up to 120Hz refresh rate and a screen-to-body ratio of 93.4%, and offers 1,920Hz PWM dimming and SGS-certified Low Blue Light Ex certification to protect your eyes. A 64-megapixel triple-camera setup on the back takes care of your images and can shoot 4K videos that are made even better by OIS and EIS. And a 5,000mAh battery with support for 67-watt wired charging means you don’t always have to reach for the charger.
