A new realme smartphone is coming to town, and it’s something you should probably watch for if you’re in the market for an affordable yet stylish handset.

(Update, June 22: The realme C53 has been launched in the Philippines! Our review is already up, too!)

realme Philippines has announced that it will launch the realme C53 at 6 p.m. on June 22, and you can watch the livestream on Facebook, TikTok, or YouTube.

realme C53 unboxing

When the brand said the phone has champion looks, it really meant it, as our short unboxing video above shows. Our Champion Gold unit is inspired by winning moments, with realme describing the design as something similar to “a golden ribbon running through the back of the phone, while a golden glow surrounds [it].”

Expect it to be thin as well. In fact, the C53, at 7.49mm, is realme’s slimmest mobile to date. By comparison, devices such as the realme C33 and realme 10 Pro Plus 5G sit at 8.3mm and 7.95mm, respectively.

The main highlight here is the smartphone’s support for 33-watt fast charging, allowing its 5,000mAh battery to go from 0% to 50% in about 31 minutes.

The realme C53 likewise features a 50-megapixel dual rear camera, an 8-megapixel sensor for selfies, a 6.74-inch 90Hz screen, a Unisoc Tiger T612 chip, and Android 13-based realme UI T Edition.

In Malaysia, the version with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at RM599. That’s around PP7,242 in Philippine pesos and $129 in U.S. dollars. Let’s wait for June 22 to find out how much it will sell for here.
