POCO is kicking off the new year with a launch of not one, not two, but three smartphones for the global market.

(Update, January 11: The POCO X6 series and POCO M6 Pro are official!)

The company has just announced that it will unveil the POCO X6 Pro, POCO X6, and POCO M6 Pro January 11. And because POCO Philippines has started teasing the launch as well, it’s safe to say that the phones will be released locally, too.

The Pro version of the X6 series is reportedly a rebrand of the Redmi Note 13 Pro but with support for 67-watt fast charging instead of 90 watts. The regular X6 model, on the other hand, is said to be a tweaked variant of the Redmi K70E, getting 64-megapixel main camera instead of a 200-megapixel one.

Just for reference, here are the specs of the two Xiaomi Redmi phones that were introduced in China:

We’re pretty sure the POCO M6 Pro that the the brand refers to here is the 4G edition, not the M6 Pro 5G that became official in August last year. The unannounced device was spotted on Amazon UAE carrying an AED899 (roughly P13,629 or $245) price tag.

The handset is shown to have a MediaTek Helio G99 processor paired with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, a 5,000mAh battery with 67-watt charging, a 6.67-inch FullHD+ POLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, and Android 13-based user interface. It’s supposed to be 8.3mm thin and 179g light.

Tune in to POCO’s official accounts at 8 p.m. Philippine time to watch the livestream of the international announcement of the POCO X6 series and POCO M6 Pro.

POCO announces the global launch date of the POCO X6 series and POCO M6 Pro. Will they be value-priced smartphones?

And something a bit off-topic… 😀 Hello, Xiaomi HyperOS. It’s one of the products and services we tried and loved last year!
