Antutu has just revealed its March 2024 China smartphone rankings, and while the best-performing Android handsets were almost the same as the ones in February, there were new top performers in the flagship and sub-flagship categories.

According to the data posted by the benchmarking platform, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered ASUS ROG Phone 8 Pro, which we reviewed recently, posted an average monthly benchmark score of 2,141,448. That was enough to topple former No. 1 flagship OPPO Find X7 Ultra, which got 2,138,119 points.

Recall that the latter was launched in January with a MediaTek Dimensity 9300. The processor is fabbed on TSMC’s third-generation 4nm process node and uses an All Big Core design, headlined by a high-performance Cortex-X4 core operating at 3.25GHz.

Interestingly, all the premium phones that were able to enter the top 10 rely on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Dimensity 9300 5G chipsets, from third-placer iQOO 12 to 10th-placer OPPO Find X7 Ultra.

In the sub-flagship space, the newly released OnePlus Ace 3V barged into the list, taking the top spot with a benchmark score of 1,466,728. The device is the first to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 3 chip, which is built on TSMC’s 4nm process and brings on-device generative AI and Wi-Fi 7.

Xiaomi’s Redmi K70E with MediaTek Dimensity 8300-Ultra slipped to second place, ahead of smartphones like the realme GT Neo5 SE, Redmi Note 12 Turbo, and OPPO Reno11.

Notice that unlike in the flagship category, there was no one or even two processors that stood out here. We got a sprinkling of different mobile platforms from both the American and Taiwanese chip manufacturers.
