Word has it that Samsung‘s next Galaxy S lineup won’t be called the S11. Instead, it will be known as the Samsung Galaxy S20 series. A picture of an actual unit seems to corroborate this.

Writer Max Weinbach of international technology website XDA Developers has managed to get hold of photos of a Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus unit. Prior to this, only renders of the phone have been leaked. See the images below.

First, the front. You can see that in the middle of the screen is a punch hole for the front-facing camera, and it’s a bit smaller than the one on the Galaxy Note 10. The display is probably 2.5D, as it looks less curved than the last time. The bezels are thin, just the way we like it.

The back of the Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus shows a rectangular module with four cameras, a flash, and what seems to be a microphone hole. The setup is rumored to be headlined by a new 12-megapixel 1.8um sensor.

From the rear, you can see a volume rocker and a power key on the left side of the smartphone.

Weinbach also posted the Geekbench benchmark scores of the S20 Plus on Twitter.

Take note that the naming convention is said to be different this time. The Plus model is not the top-end version anymore; it’s the Ultra. Expect the following variants to be launched:

  • Samsung Galaxy S20
  • Samsung Galaxy S20 5G
  • Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus
  • Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus 5G
  • Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G

No 4G version for the Ultra, it seems. Well, the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2020 — where the Samsung Galaxy Bloom, formerly believed to be the Galaxy Fold 2 — is already happening February 11th (3 a.m. on February 12 in the Philippines). So the wait for confirmation shouldn’t be that long.
