Huawei Nova 5T gets new P1,000 price cut in the Philippines

Huawei Philippines has announced a lower price for the Huawei Nova 5T amid the government-mandated quarantine period that has forced the shutdown of stores across Luzon and other areas in the country.

Locally, Huawei’s top midrange contender will now be priced at P15,990 (around $317) from its recent price of P16,990 ($336) and P18,990 ($376) at launch. This would make the Nova 5T a compelling offer in 2020, despite the release of newer models from Samsung, OPPO, and Xiaomi.

The price drop also puts the Nova 5T much closer to the recently launched Huawei Nova 7i, although the former boasts a flagship-grade processor in the Kirin 980. It’s the same chip found inside the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro, among other high-end smartphones.

By contrast, the Nova 7i uses a Kirin 810. Still great, but it doesn’t offer the same performance as the Kirin 980 especially when it comes to gaming. The Nova 7i currently sells for P13,990 ($277) in the Philippines.
