The Vivo Y15 model from 2019 will be replaced soon, and the good news is the upcoming model will be released in the Philippines.

(Update, November 7: The Vivo Y15s and Vivo Y15A are available starting at P6,999 [$139] in the Philippines!)

According to the world’s fourth-largest smartphone brand, Filipino consumers should expect the Vivo Y15 Series to be rolled out to local stores soon. We’re not sure if it’s just a lone unit and it’s really named Y15 Series or if the word “Series” there means lineup and we’re getting different 2021 Y15 models, like Y15s or Y15i perhaps.

Based on the press release that we’ve embedded on this page, though, it looks like Vivo is referring to only one phone. Let’s see. For now, we’re treating the Vivo Y15 Series as a single handset.

Anyhow, do you remember the look of the 2019 variant? While the yet-to-be-launched Vivo smartphone still has a waterdrop-style notch, its back has been redesigned to give it a look that we think is hipper, more modern, and more geared towards the younger market. The rear-camera module is now bigger and a bit more squarish, and there’s a vertical pattern on the back panel.

Three of the Vivo Y15 Series’ highlights include an 8-megapixel night selfie camera with a Selfie Soft Light Band (this is being marketed as a selfie phone, after all), a slim frame that measures only 8.28mm, and a 5,000mAh battery that should be able to give you “up to 18 hours of HD movie streaming or 7 hours of intensive game playing.” The cell likewise uses 5V1A Reverse Charging technology.

So, how much is the Vivo Y15 Series going to be when it becomes available in the Philippines? The company said to expect a P5,000 (around $99) to P7,500 ($148) price range. Stay tuned.
