Weeks after the 12GB/256GB Pro version of OPPO’s Reno8 series became available in the Philippines via Globe Postpaid, it has finally gone to retail. The model with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, that is.

(Update, January 5: The OPPO Reno8 Pro 5G is now exclusive only to Globe Postpaid subscribers. Check out the plan you can avail yourself of here!)

The OPPO Reno8 Pro 5G is being sold on the brand’s official stores on Lazada and Shopee with a suggested retail price of P29,999, or roughly $538. For reference, the OPPO Reno8 Z and Reno8 5G phones cost P19,999 ($359) and P27,999 ($502), respectively. Notice that the Pro version is only P2,000 ($36) more expensive than the vanilla variant, so if you’re eyeing the latter, we think you should check out the Reno8 Pro as well to see which one feels right for you.

The triple-camera setup of the Reno8 family’s most premium member in the Philippines is supported by OPPO’s own 6nm MariSilicon X neural processing unit. It’s the NPU that debuted in the flagship Find X5 lineup, designed to improve nighttime photography and 4K videography.

The OPPO Reno8 Pro 5G likewise gets a more powerful processor in the 5nm MediaTek Dimensity 8100-Max chip (vs the 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 1300), the same custom chipset that’s in devices such as the newly launched OPPO Reno9 Pro. It has a bigger and faster screen, too. Think 6.7-inch 1080p AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate versus 6.4-inch 1080p AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The rest of the specs are the same.
