This is how the OnePlus 5 will supposedly look

THE OnePlus 5‘s expected launch is just two months away, so we’re not surprised to see its alleged specs leaking out left and right. What we did not spot, though, is an image of the OnePlus 3T‘s successor. Today, that has changed.

Below is a photo that India Today Tech says it sourced from people who have seen the phone.

One detail immediately stands out: that if this is indeed the OnePlus 5, then it will have two rear-facing cameras, a feature that a lot of smartphones are offering these days — from the Apple iPhone 7 Plus and the Xiaomi Mi 6 to even the Cherry Mobile P1 and P1 Plus.

How OnePlus will implement the dual-camera system, we don’t know. The kind of sensors that it will use is unknown, too. However, we’ve heard that the front camera will probably have the same 16-megapixel sensor included in the OnePlus 3T.

Now, look at the image again — closely this time. It seems that the OnePlus 5 has done away with the antenna lines that its predecessor sports. What you end up with is a seamless look on the back.

The rest is pretty much like the 3T: metal frame made of brushed aluminum and rounded edges. Take note, though, that according to India Today Tech‘s sources, the design is not yet final. Tweaks may still be made ahead of the phone’s launch.

Those same sources did not mention any specs, but past rumors indicate that the OnePlus 5 will come with a staggering 8GB of RAM, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, a 5.5-inch dual-edged curved display, and up to 256GB of internal storage.

Will it be the flagship killer that it’s touted to be? We’ll see if the OnePlus 5 can knock down the Samsung Galaxy S8+, which we think is the smartphone to beat this year… so far.
