The successors to the Google Pixel 2 series are expected to be launched in October. But guess what? You don’t have to wait that long to take a good look at one of them, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845-powered Google Pixel 3 XL. A review, among others, has already been posted online.

If you’re part of Team I Am Not Bothered About The Notch, then you’re all good with the smartphone. As you can see in the picture below, it has one to house the 8-megapixel front camera and other sensors. Down below, at the bottom, is a big chin. The 6.2-inch OLED screen is much better than its predecessor’s 6-inch display. However, outdoor visibility is not as good, especially when compared to the Samsung Galaxy Note 9‘s.

How do you feel about the Google Pixel 3 XL’s notch and big chin?

The Google Pixel 3 XL’s back still looks the same as the Pixel 2 XL. And if you’re hoping to see additional camera sensors there, you’d be crushed to know that there’s still only one rear camera (12 megapixels), which means there’s no option for telephoto or wide-angle shots. Google hasn’t gone on the path leading smartphone manufacturers tread these days.

The Google Pixel 3 XL still has a single rear camera.

Sure, the quality of the sample pictures is still great. Pixel devices have always delivered when it comes to image quality, thanks to Google’s software optimization, big sensor, and HDR+ mode. But when you compare the digital zoom to the P20 Pro‘s optical one, you’ll clearly see the need for a dedicated telephoto camera.

The reviewer hasn’t tested the 3,430mAh battery because the 4GB RAM/64GB ROM base model that he has is a pre-production unit. And that’s why its built is still not as polished as he wants it to be. Some features are not finished yet, too. However, he assures that the Android 9.0 Pie phone has the final software build and the latest Google Camera version.

The Google Pixel 3 XL’s price will reportedly start from $749 (around P40,079), and the regular Pixel 3’s, from $649 (P34,728). This time, though, Google Pixel Buds earbuds, which are separately priced at $159 (P8,508), are included for free in the package. The box also contains a quick-charge charger, a USB Type-C cable, a USB Type-C to 3.5mm cable, a USB Type-C to USB cable, and a SIM ejector tool.
