The new Huawei Nova 7 SE 5G is the most affordable 5G-enabled smartphone in the Philippines. This device, along with the Huawei P40, P40 Pro, and P40 Pro Plus, is among the few available on the local market that will let you take advantage of super-fast 5G speeds where available. The rest of the specs sheet is just as impressive.

(Update, August 22: The phone gets a price cut in the Philippines!)

(Update, July 28: This is the most affordable 5G phone in the Philippines, but some say it’s expensive. Is it? Here’s what we think.)

And if you want to get your hands on the latest Nova phone, you’ll be happy to know that the Huawei Nova 7 SE 5G has been released locally in Space Silver and Crush Green colors. It has a suggested retail price of P19,990 (around $398) and comes with a free Huawei Band 4e fitness tracker in tow for customers who complete their purchase until June 30.

The company is also throwing in free Huawei Cloud storage, as well as exclusive benefits courtesy of Huawei Themes, Huawei Video, and Huawei Books, to bring the total worth of freebies to P4,187 ($83).

Even better, you can get the device with a cool P500 ($10) discount if you buy it from Huawei’s official store on Shopee Philippines using the voucher code “Gadgetzone8,” knocking the price to P19,490 ($388) without shipping.

As for the device itself, the Huawei Nova 7 SE 5G is equipped with a new 7nm HiSilicon Kirin 820 chipset, which integrates eight CPU cores (four are Cortex-A76 cores, twice the number found in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G) and Mali-G57 graphics with six cores.

Based on tests we conducted, we found that the Kirin 820 outperforms the Snapdragon 765G in benchmarks and real-world usage. We’ll have more to say about the processor in our full review.

In terms of cameras, the latest Nova packs a quad camera setup on the back, including a 64-megapixel sensor — the most pixels offered by a Huawei device to date. The front features a 6.5-inch LCD with a punch hole for the 16-megapixel, f/2.0 selfie shooter, while the frame of the phone houses a physical fingerprint reader for fast and convenient unlocking.

Last but certainly not the least, the phone carries a 4,000mAh battery that supports 40-watt fast charging over USB-C, and the retail box includes the charger and cable that allow you to fully top up the battery in about an hour.
