The Huawei MateBook 14 2020 has been launched in the Philippines, with the latest AMD Ryzen-powered laptop from the tech giant priced at P54,999, or roughly $1,133, locally.
The notebook is available for preorder online until October 24. Even better, those who buy the Huawei MateBook 14 2020 early will receive a bundle worth P11,989 ($247), including the black Huawei Freebuds 3i true wireless earphones and Huawei Classic Backpack in Forest Green.
If you’re in the market for a new laptop for productivity and entertainment and you’re actually on the fence about this particular model, check out our video showcasing the MateBook 14 and its most useful features — to us, at least. We’ve been using the laptop for weeks now, and we think it’s the best-value Windows PC Huawei has ever built.
To recap, the AMD Ryzen 5 4600H CPU inside packs more than enough power for most PC tasks — video editing and casual gaming included — while maintaining a portable size and an attractive metallic design. The Huawei MateBook 14 2020 can even run modern games like Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey at reasonable frame rates.
The 14-inch IPS screen is plenty sharp, offering 2K visuals, and boasts a 3:2 aspect ratio for better vertical scrolling compared to 16:10 laptop displays. The keyboard has backlighting and feels comfortable to type on, and the touchpad is generous for multi-touch input.
The latter also has NFC for Huawei Share, so you can quickly transfer big files between the MateBook 14 2020 and a compatible device. Huawei Share likewise comes with the Multi-Screen Collaboration feature, which allows screen sharing to operate a connected phone hands-free. As content creators, having a PC that pairs seamlessly with other devices we already have makes our workflow more efficient.
In terms of battery life, the Huawei MateBook 14 2020 typically lasts a full workday based on our usage. When the battery runs out, the included 65-watt power brick should be able to recharge the laptop back up to full capacity in under two hours.
