Will Samsung launch its most affordable 5G phone in the Philippines soon? It certainly looks like it.
We at Revü have stumbled upon a listing for a Samsung handset that has yet to be announced on the local market. The said device uses the model number SM-A136B/DSN, which corresponds to the 5G variant of the Galaxy A13. We have yet to see the Samsung Galaxy A13 5G on the Korean company’s official e-commerce stores, though — not on Shopee, Lazada, or Samsung’s own online store in the country.
And no, the Galaxy A13 5G is not a new model either. In fact, it already made its debut in some markets, including the United States and India, some time ago. Soon, it will be available here, too, and it will replace the Galaxy A22 5G as the brand’s cheapest 5G phone in the Philippines.
In the U.S., the Samsung A13 5G carries an unlocked price of $250, or roughly P13,734 converted, and comes in black and green colors. The MediaTek Dimensity 700-based Galaxy A22 5G is currently priced at P13,990 ($255) on the open market.
The Galaxy A13 5G sports an all-plastic housing with a smooth matte finish, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a waterdrop LCD display up front.
As for the specs, the smartphone is built around the same aforementioned 5G chipset, and comes with Mali-G52 graphics and 4GB of RAM. It also packs a 6.5-inch screen with HD+ resolution and a reasonably responsive 90Hz refresh rate.
A 5,000mAh battery that supports 15-watt fast cable charging keeps the lights on, while the main camera incorporates a 50-megapixel mage sensor, alongside a pair of 2-megapixel for macro and portrait shots. Meanwhile, a 5-megapixel camera in a waterdrop cutout takes care of selfies.
