More than two months after we saw its prototype at MWC 2019 in Barcelona, Spain, it has finally landed in the Philippines.

OPPO Philippines has taken the wraps off the Reno 10x Zoom Edition, whose highlight is its ability to zoom in on objects from a distance. Its 13-megapixel telephoto lens — which is paired with 48-megapixel primary and 8-megapixel ultra-wide cameras — can reach up to 5x optical zoom, 10x hybrid zoom, and 60x digital zoom — which is more than the Huawei P30 Pro‘s 50x.

The OPPO Reno 10x Zoom Edition brought here is the variant with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and it is priced at P45,990 (around $886). The device will be up for preorder starting June 21 until June 20. Early adopters will get a free gimbal stabilizer worth P5,999 ($116). It will initially be available at 100 select OPPO stores starting July 1.

Launched alongside the Snapdragon 855 phone is the Snapdragon 710-powered OPPO Reno, whose preorder period began June 15th and ends tomorrow, June 20. So yes, you still have time to reserve a unit to take advantage of the P2,499 ($48) Rock Space Muse Bluetooth speaker freebie. The regular Reno, in case you didn’t know, is selling for P26,990 ($520). Shipping begins June 21.

Other things to nake note of regarding the two smartphones:

  • Local telcos Globe Telecom and Smart Communications will offer them starting July.
  • Lazada Philippines will have exclusive preorders for them from the 21st to the 30th this month.
  • You can get them through Home Credit at 0% interest in 9- and 12-month installment plans.
  • They will also be available through Metrobank at 0% interest with the more affordable Reno payable in 12 months and the top-end variant in 24 months.

The OPPO Reno 10x Zoom Edition and OPPO Reno were first announced in China April 10. They use a wedge-shaped section to house the camera module and flash for selfies. It pops out when you need to take a selfie or use face unlock, although facial recognition is no longer as advanced as the Face ID-style unlocking of the OPPO Find X. The company compensates with an under-display fingerprint sensor.
