The Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 phones are coming. And most of them — real and rumored — come from brands under multinational conglomerate BBK Electronics, with the OPPO A53 2020 getting the chip first.

(Update, September 26: We have the phone! Read This is the P7,499 [$155] Vivo Y20i, up for preorder in PH till Oct 2.)

One model with the said SoC is already confirmed to arrive in the Philippines. The Vivo Y20i, which Vivo Philippines teased just a couple of days ago, is launching in the country September 26.

The Vivo Y20i is coming September 26

Announced first in India about three weeks ago, the Vivo Y20i has a big, 5,000mAh battery going for it. The smartphone should offer you “up to 16 hours of online HD movie streaming or 11 hours of resource-intensive games” on a single charge, as the company claims. You may also use it to charge other devices.

There’s a fingerprint scanner mounted on the right side of the unit, a triple 13-megapixel AI camera on the rear panel, and an 8-megapixel selfie sensor in the waterdrop notch at the top of the 6.5-inch screen. It’s running Android 10-based FunTouch OS 10.5.

In India, the Vivo Y20i with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage is priced at ₹11,490 — or roughly P7,568 in Philippine pesos and $156 in U.S. dollars. Locally, it’s officially the unit that comes after the Vivo Y30, which is retailing here for P9,999 ($206).

One “unofficial” teaser we’ve seen shows the Y20i will immediately be available for preorder after the launch on the 26th. Reservations will supposedly close October 2. And early adopters? They’ll get freebies worth P1,299 ($27).

Yet another teaser states the price is P7,499 ($155) for the 4GB/64GB model — which is confusing, because in India, that memory configuration is for the Vivo Y20. Maybe the latter is called the Vivo Y20i in the Philippines? Let’s wait for September 26 for the official details, shall we?
