We said the Realme C17 might be the most affordable Realme smartphone with a 90Hz screen. Turns out, we were right.

At around the same time Realme‘s Narzo 20 family is being introduced to the Indian market, the former OPPO sub-brand has announced the Realme C17 in Bangladesh, just hundreds of miles away.

The handset is priced at ৳15,990 (around P9,138 or $189) and will be available in Lake Green and Navy Blue colors. The first online flash sale will take place tomorrow, September 22.

We understand that the C series has been Realme’s best-performing smartphone line in the Philippines, so it won’t surprise us to hear about a local launch soon.

The newly unveiled Realme C17 is now the company’s cheapest model with a faster-than-usual display and is one of the first phones to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 460 platform alongside the OPPO A53 2020, Vivo Y20, and Vivo Y20i.

Coincidentally, the Realme C17 looks a lot like the OPPO phone we mentioned, sporting a rectangular camera module and a physical fingerprint reader on the back and a punch-hole screen on the front.

The display is 6.5 inches, with HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate, which means it refreshes 90 times every second it is on, resulting in smoother visuals particularly when navigating the home screen and scrolling through menus.

There are four cameras on the rear panel of the Realme C17. The main camera is 13 megapixels, while the ultra-wide shooter has an 8-megapixel sensor. The other two secondary cameras sport 2-megapixel macro and monochrome sensors.

Moving to the battery, it is 5,000mAh and charges at up to 18 watts using the included power brick. The large battery backup is rated for up to 34 days on standby or 12.3 hours of continuous gaming.
