Xiaomi has finally announced that its next flagship series smartphones will debut in China February 13 and will take the global stage February 23, a day before the Mobile World Congress or MWC 2020 officially kicks off in Barcelona, Spain.
The Xiaomi Mi 10 series global-launch announcement. The tagline is #LightsCameraAction, indicating that the line will highlight its camera prowess
This is contrary to previous reports saying the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro will be unveiled on the 11th.
In China, however, the announcement will be done online because of the threat posed by the novel coronavirus.
Confirmed specs of the 5G-ready Xiaomi Mi 10 lineup include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor to power the unit, LPDDR5 DRAM for reaching 5G speeds without any issues, UFS 3.0 storage for faster yet more power-efficient data transfers, and Wi-Fi 6 for improved speed and efficiency.
A leaked poster shows that the Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro will look like this.
The two devices look the same. Both probably share the same punch-hole screen design seen in the picture above. It’s just that the blue color variant has an extra sensor, which seems to give credence to rumors that the Pro model will have four cameras on the back.
A 108-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor is said to be paired with 20-megapixel ultra-wide, 12-megapixel zoom, and 5-megapixel depth shooters.
Word has it that the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro will get up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. It can supposedly support 66-watt fast charging.
We’ll be at MWC 2020 with the Huawei contingent. We’ll probably drop by Xiaomi’s booth as soon as we’re done covering Huawei’s event. Stay tuned.
